EAST WEST THEATER is the leading English-language ensemble theater in Shanghai, China. Founded in February 2006, East West Theater is committed to bringing outstanding, dramatic theater repertoire to stage through innovative performances produced by local talent. Our stage productions range from the classics to modern theater. We bring to life and interpretation the exceptional writing of famous playwrights like Tennessee Williams, Clifford Odets and William Shakespeare. Our actors and creative team live in Shanghai, but boasts nationalities from all over the world, including Canada, Palestine, Brazil, Poland, the United States, Australia, Germany, England, China, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, Italy and many other countries. East West Theater’s vision is simple. We create theater art of the highest quality and integrity. We cultivate diversity in our community through our international talent pool and volunteer opportunities. We collaborate with the Shanghai community by presenting strong, thought-provoking productions upon which families and individuals can learn and reflect. We are a non-profit group.
